How to Slay Your Eyeliner

Have you ever experienced the moment when you have beat your face and everything in perfect.... then it comes to applying your eyeliner and hoping to god you don't screw up because if you do, you have to start all over again. We have all been there and it sucked.  For some, eyeliner can be a piece of cake, but to get good at eyeliner you need to practice. Here are some amazing tip and tricks to slay your eyeliner and rock that sharp wing.

1) Know your eyeliners

There are many different types of eyeliners that you need to be aware of. There is pencil eyeliner, liquid eyeliner and gel pot eyeliners. The pencil liner is perfect if you want to smoke out your eye makeup. Liquid eyeliners, especially in pen form, are perfect for traveling. They dry quick and wont budge at all. Gel liners more movable than liquid liners and are usually less matte.

2) Applying liquid liner

Start with a bare eye. Use the liner pen, dot the sparse areas in your lashes, wiggling the liner at the base of the lashes to blend in with the visible line The goal is to make the lashes and eyeliner blend easily and cohesively.

3) Getting that smokey liner look

Apply a pencil liner as you would the liquid liner. Once the liner is in place, start to smudge it out with a blending brush. This will start to create the smudge effect. Then get the same blending brush and apply a dark brown or black eyeshadow onto the liner. Again, blend this out to achieve an even smokier eye.

4) The cat eye or winged liner look

Apply the gel liner on the top of your lashes as you would with the other eyeliners. Once that is complete, measure out how far you want the wing to go. Get your liner brush and make light handed strokes up toward the tail of your brow. PRO TIP: Make sure the line attaches and follows the angle of your lower lash line. This will help you create the perfect angle for the wing . Once you have the wing in place, fill in the rest of the liner so that the top of you lashes liner attaches to the tip of your wing.

Using these tips can help you create the perfect look using eyeliner. Whether you are going out on the town or just running jobs around town, a perfect liner can help you look put together and  tackle your day in style.
